Sailing St. John

Asante is a beautiful 1988 Brewer 44′ classic Monohull sailing vessel. On board, you’ll find comfortable seating in the cockpit, bean bag chairs for lounging on the bow and lovely seats in the back of the boat where you can enjoy the sights of the sails working their magic. We have a bathroom on board as well as a full galley where our mate creates amazing snacks and drinks for you to enjoy throughout your day or evening!

Full Day Sailing Trips

As mentioned, you have tons of options to choose from for your sailing adventure! Our most popular trip is the Full Day with a Sunset Finale! Depending on the time of year (and sunset!), we pick up at either Noon or 1PM and the sail, snorkel and snack for six hours until the final colors of sunset paint the sky. This trip is ideal for those of you who want to enjoy all of the amenities of a full day sail but also want to take in the sunset from the water.

Our other Full Day Sail begins with a 10AM pick-up and a 4PM drop-off. Full Day sailing trips look a bit like this:

  • Pick-up in Cruz Bay, the Westin STJ, Lovango Resort + Beach Club or Red Hook in St. Thomas. Upon boarding, you’ll be greeted with a fruit plate and our friendly first mate, ready to load your gear on-board and take your drink order!
  • After a brief and informative safety talk with Captain Teddy, we sail for a bit and then stop for a snorkel.
  • Next up is lunch at either Lovango Resort + Beach Club or pizza on the boat from Pizza Pi VI (Take a look at the menu the day you board so you can give Captain Teddy your order in advance!) A post-lunch float or snorkel is up next.
  • From here, you’ve got options. You can opt for a third snorkel stop OR some extra sailing time! Either of which will be paired by a charcuterie board and… You guessed it, cocktails!

Half-Day Sailing Trips

Our half-day trips are perfect for those of you who want to simply “test the waters” of sailing or those with limited time. The “three hour tour,” as we refer to it, includes one or two snorkel stops, sailing, snacks, drinks, gear and, as always, fuel. However, we will warn you, most guests who opt for this shorter trip option often wish they had gone with the full day!

We keep it close to home on our half-day sailing trips, the most common snorkel stops being Scott Beach at Caneel Bay, Lovango Cay and Henley Cay. The number of stops depend on how long you want to spend in the water. You can also opt for extra sailing over water time…Everything is customizable! Half-day trips run from either 9AM-Noon or 1PM-4PM and both include either a fruit plate or a charcuterie board, depending on the time of day.

Sunset Sails

Sunset Sail

Sunsets Sails are where the real MAGIC happens on the water. Again, the Full Day Sail with a Sunset Finale is the best option for enjoying the full show. But if you are looking for a romantic evening (the perfect setting for a proposal!) or just a short amount of time on the water to enjoy sailing and nature, this is where it’s at.

Depending on the time of year, we pick up at either 4PM or 4:30PM with the sailing experience lasting for two hours. You’ll enjoy drinks and a charcuterie board as we sail out of the Golden Hour and into the sunset. If you’re looking to add to your romantic experience, ask about the details behind a drop-off at ZoZo’s at Caneel Bay for dinner!

Sailing Asante offers competitive pricing for private, custom sailing adventures. And there is a trip option for everyone. Regardless of your sailing experience. Join us for a day, or an evening, and discover the magic of sailing the United States Virgin Islands!
